As Japanese learners ourselves, we know the struggle all too well. The hardest part is rarely just one skill. It is the fragmentation: kanji in one app, grammar in another, listening somewhere else, and no single roadmap that connects the whole journey from beginner to advanced.
We spent years battling the same frustrations: forgetting what we had studied just days ago, losing momentum because review systems were inconsistent, and jumping between scattered resources that never quite connected reading, listening, vocabulary, grammar, and kanji into one flow.

To ensure true mastery, Kanjijo uses Sequential Unlocking. You must pass the proficiency test of your current lesson to unlock the next. This ensures quality learning — no skipping ahead, no gaps in knowledge.

Free users get full access to ALL our learning content — nothing is locked. The free plan unlocks 6 new lessons per day total — one new lesson per day in each of the 6 content tracks: Kanji+Vocabulary, JLPT Hiragana, JLPT Katakana, Grammar, Reading, and Listening. You also get JLPT mock tests, unlimited SRS reviews, the home screen widget, lock screen widget, interactive test widget, OCR scanning and exclusive kanji + vocab mnemonics. A short rewarded ad plays before each new lesson - but only when you choose to start one. We never interrupt your learning with unwanted advertisements.
Premium Tier
Need more? Premium users can unlock unlimited lessons per day with absolutely no ads — not even rewarded ad prompts. The sequential unlock system still applies to maintain learning quality, but there’s no daily limit holding you back. And you get access to full features of the app.
