Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Kanjijo (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Kanjijo is a Japanese language learning application that teaches Kanji, Vocabulary, and Kana through interactive flashcards and a Spaced Repetition System (SRS). The App provides structured lessons organized by JLPT level (N5–N1) with proficiency testing and progress tracking.

3. User Accounts

You may be required to create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration.

4. Free and Premium Plans

Free Plan

Free users receive full access to all learning content with one new lesson unlock per day. This includes unlimited SRS reviews, proficiency tests, home screen widgets, study statistics, and cloud backup. To unlock a new lesson, you may choose to watch a short opt-in rewarded ad. Ads are never forced or shown during reviews — you only see them when you actively choose to.

Premium Plan

Premium subscribers enjoy unlimited lesson unlocks per day with no daily limit and a completely ad-free experience — no rewarded ad prompts at all. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store on a monthly or yearly basis.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

• All payments are processed through the Apple App Store.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods. Refund requests should be directed to Apple.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App’s systems or other users’ accounts
• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the App’s content
• Use automated tools to access or scrape the App’s content

7. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including but not limited to text, graphics, flashcard content, mnemonics, audio recordings, and software — is the property of Kanjijo or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute this content without written permission.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kanjijo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the App settings or our account deletion page.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
